KPV is a biologically active tripeptide derived from the C-terminal sequence of α-Melanocyte-Stimulating Hormone (α-MSH). It is composed of three amino acids: Lysine–Proline–Valine (KPV) and has been widely researched for its potent anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory properties. KPV is known for its ability to downregulate pro-inflammatory cytokines, including TNF-α, IL-6, and NF-κB, making it a peptide of interest in inflammation-related research models. Unlike full-length α-MSH, KPV retains strong anti-inflammatory effects without stimulating melanogenesis, eliminating concerns related to skin pigmentation in research settings. Key Research Functions (Traditional Claims) Supports inflammatory response regulation Demonstrates gut-protective properties in intestinal research models Studied for potential benefits in colitis, IBD, and leaky gut models Shown to influence immune signaling pathways May support skin barrier repair and wound-healing environments
